| Abstract |
Natural landscape was dominant at Yeongdo, the study area of this study, during the early period. Yeongdo, however, have changed into urban landscape rapidly along with the opening of the port. It also have played critical roles in the history of the city of Busan as a place of international trade and temporary capital. Internal and external conditions cause Yeongdo to be changed in both positive and negative ways. Comparing to other areas in the city of Busan, Yeongdo has been given little attention in the aspects of urban design and planning. Since the changing aspects of Yeongdo are rapid and various, this study aims to identify the landscape characteristics by conducting time series analysis. The results will be the foundation to suggest basic frame and principles for the development projects near Yeongdo as well as contribute to extending the knowledge about the shape of Yeongdo's urban landscape and its change. |
