Abstract |
The objective of this study is to find proper urban design methods that can be applied in CBD for low?carbon-oriented green urban regeneration. For these purpose, we identified planning elements in urban regeneration for carbon reduction and examined standard of carbon emission through literature review and questionnaire survey. We counted the amount of carbon emission energy use in the the CBD of Cheongju city as case study area, and compared two types of carbon emission by conventional urban redevelopment and low-carbon and green urban regeneration. Finally, we examined the carbon reduction effect of low-carbon and green urban regeneration. The results reveal that we can reduce carbon emission by high density and compact urban redevelopment, but if low-carbon and green urban regeneration elements were applied actively, the carbon reduction effect would be promoted more sharply. |
