Abstract |
This study aims to identify and analyze behavior settings in Cheonggyecheon in terms of behavior setting theory. The theory sees both environment and behavior as integrated and conducts observation as a methodology. The study draws specific physical behavior settings in Cheonggyecheon and their characteristics. Research methods include literature review, video-recording analysis, and behavior mapping. The conclusions are as follows: 1) there are 90 behavior settings containing specific size, location, and boundary; 2) behavior settings can be classified into 25 types of physical behavior settings; 3) centeredness is high under bridges and near concrete waterfronts; and 4) since occupant density is highest near the water, the spots near water can be considered physically centered space. |
