Abstract |
This study aims to identify street livability of boulevards according to changes to Green Buffers in Seoul. The case study area was the Educational Development Institute intersection in Yangjae residential development district. Research findings were as follows. First, land uses on the block became more diverse in the street; decks were installed facing the Green Buffer, first floor buildings uses changed and diversified, and frontage and openness of buildings by Gangnamdaero were enhanced. Second, the role of a green buffer expanded from simple noise reduction to the concept of rest and recovery. Third, the more entrances there were, the more livable the street was. It was identified that Road - Green Buffers ? Sidewalk - Buildings order had a much more positive impact on street livability than Road? Sidewalk - Green Buffers - Buildings. |
