Abstract Yonsei-ro' in Sinchon opened in 2014 as the first transit mall in Seoul to revitalize downtown commercial areas by ensuring pleasant pedestrian environment and promoting walking activities. This research evaluates Yonsei-ro before and after the establishment of the transit mall in order to analyze physical environmental changes of the street, impacts on pedestrian satisfaction, and main factors that influence pedestrian satisfaction. Therefore, this research reviews literature, analyzes physical changes after the establishment of the Yonsei-ro project through drawings and surveys, conducts survey, and performs statistical analysis. The findings of this research are the following. First, the physical environment has been improved by the project. Second, the degree of satisfaction increased after the project. Finally, the main factors related to pedestrian satisfaction were connectivity, pleasantness, and safety.
