Abstract |
The aim of this paper is to find correlational meanings between implemented and non-implemented areas. Hence, this study focuses on four different cases in Da-dong, co-existential area, to observe their spontaneous self-evolution. The findings are summarized as follows. First, the implemented buildings transform the lobby and business facilities of the ground floor into subdivided retail stores. Second, they maximize the number and surface area of the stores in order to maintain continuity with the stores of the non-implemented area in terms of program and scale. Finally, the recently completed office buildings tend to locate the core and lobby with reduced floor area at the rear of the building. To sum up, this study is significant as it phenomenologically observes the spontaneous self-evolutionary phenomena created by the co-existence of the different areas which is an essential step to the reconfiguration of urban polices. |
