Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to find some implications for urban regeneration and linear urban park management focusing on the relationship between linear park and adjacent area’s environments and changes. Through the analysis of the macroscopic and microscopic changes for 15 years in lots, buildings, usage and streets, the following results were found. First, Gwangju Greenway Park was affecting adjacent areas with inducing residentialadapting minor renovations and gradual changes also with status quo or decline. Second, it is recommended to upgrade facilities and employ landscape engagement in order to increase accessibility and improve effective park maintenance for commercial or cultural use. Third, park-based urban regeneration policy purchasing empty lots for public use or utilizing green contracts is needed to connect linear park. Fourth, urban development areas affect the innate landscape of the residential area. Therefore, a comprehensive green networking strategy is desirable for the residential regeneration project. |
