Abstract |
The aim of this study is to identify implications for the townscape color planning direction of the dominate waterfront regeneration by researching and analyzing the townscape color characteristics of the waterfront regeneration areas in Canada and America. Research methods outline ways to identify significance in the study through the review of existing studies and to improve the townscape color identity required for urban regeneration in the waterfront space. Next, the townscape color characteristics of the waterfront areas of Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland in Canada and USA, are surveyed and analyzed, to identify characteristics of the waterfront urban regeneration and the characteristics and identity of the waterfront plans. As a result of the study, it was important to systematically organize and reflect the colors and materials that have been accumulated in the region for a long time in the planning and repair of environmental colors in the waterfront regeneration areas. It also introduces the cultural climate color of local landscape and the application of materials and colors to enhance the consistency of regional differentiation, while retaining the historical patterns, such as those in the seaside of North America. |
