Abstract |
Along with the introduction of the urban design system and the expansion of commercialization facilities, a space construction method of lower part of prime offices has changed. In order to find out how the space has changed, this paper looked at 20 prime offices in Jongno-gu and Jung-gu, Seoul’s business district. By documenting previous research works, field research, and drawing analysis, the method of constituting the lower part of prime offices was grasped and its characteristic was examined. The paper concludes that as the spatial composition method of the lower part is diversified, the lower part of prime offices are securing public interest in terms of accessibility, openness, and connectivity. This paper is significant in that the lower part of the prime office has been viewed three-dimensionally from the viewpoint of public interest, and it can serve as a basic material for establishing policies related to public nature of large offices and planning large offices in existing urban areas. |
