Abstract |
This study analyzed the spatial use patterns visitors to Wulhwa Street after urban regeneration of Gangreung and using the regional integration of space syntax theory. ArcGIS and Space-Syntax were used for analysis. Results showed: (1) the characteristics and uses of facilities near the linear park affected the space availability and density of users in pedestrian public spaces. and (2) Functions and effects of the linear park varied by regional and urban conditions; the effects of urban regeneration on Wulhwa Street’s spatial use patterns mightgradually intensify. (3) Age group and gender had relatively small variations. (4) The number of axes near Wulhwa Street and Gangreung Station as well as overall integration and connectivity increased, while the control level decreased. Spatial recognition also increased, and the transformation of regional spatial structure had been confirmed. |
