Abstract |
Minbuk Village, located to the north of the Civilian Control Line, is a historical place created by the Korean War and a living space in a controlled environment. This paper aims to explore the Minbuk village from the perspective of ‘living heritage’ and establish baseline data necessary for the village’s conservation and management. Two villages in Cheorwon were analyzed by literature and field studies. Minbuk Village has the tangible heritage that distinguishes it from ordinary rural villages and intangible heritage such as experience and memory of the cold war, landscape, and environment. The subject of heritage evolution is resident community, and the community change confirmed the cause of the spatial change. This study is a fundamental study for the sustainable conservation and management of the Minbuk village and has significance in constructing visual spatial information. |
