| Abstract |
This study aims to select indicators for evaluating the pedestrian environment in Silver Zones and apply them to the Silver Zones in Nam-gu, Daegu. For this, four evaluation items (safety, accessibility, comfort, convenience) and 24 factors were selected. The study was conducted through GIS and field survey. As a result, it was found that the Jungdong Bridge Gateball Stadium had an excellent pedestrian environment in safety, comfort, and convenience, but Nam-gu Social Welfare Center was needed to improve the pedestrian environment in all three evaluation items. Meanwhile, in the cases of Nam-gu Social Welfare Center and Myeong-dong Children's Park, poor pedestrian environments were created despite the large number of elderly people living within a radius of 300m from the designated facilities. The study is meaningful in that it pointed out the necessity of pedestrian environment improvement in Silver Zones based on the evaluation. |
