| Abstract |
This research aims to look for alternative designs of waterfront that based ondike systems in Korean environment. The dike system for disaster prevention wouldbe considered as a limitation factor to design waterfront. However, alternativechange of dike system will support to improve a practical use of waterfront andreinforce an environment and water friendly, corresponding to climate change. Recently, there has been several interesting proposals of waterfront including variouspossibilities of water friendly design that adapted Korean climatic environment andriver level change. This study categories five typologies of dike system for adaptingwater level change, and looks for possibilities of applying on waterfront area by thetype. The typology of dike system through case analysis would show alternativedesign directions and expand the possibilities of diverse waterfront design onunderstanding the management system of water resources. |
