Abstract |
This article discusses the determinants of the satisfaction of urban regeneration new deal projects in South Korea. The study measures the project satisfaction level of the staff in charge of the projects and the residents living in the urban regeneration areas. The study further identifies the factors affecting the satisfaction level. The study found that resident participation in the project planning process and securing a stable project budget were negative determinants of staff satisfaction, while inter-organizational cooperation and local economy activation were positive determinants. For residents, positive determinants of satisfaction included SOC infrastructure, urban regeneration contents with regional characteristics, revitalization of local communities, and reinvigorating the local economy. We suggest improving the working environment of the staff and establishing clear guidelines for resident participation in projects. Additionally, enhancing the living environment by upgrading SOC infrastructure and physical conditions for residents is crucial in improving satisfaction with urban regeneration new deal projects. |
