Abstract |
The ‘Chrono-urbanism’, which forms spatially and temporally proximate areas of life, is being implemented globally as ‘N-minute cities’. This study focuses on ‘Urban Diversity’ as a planning factor that can enhance proximity from the perspective of chrono-urbanism. In particular, it is assumed that urban diversity within existing cities further enhances the proximity to living services. To verify this, the study used the Feasible Generalized Least Squares(FGLS) with land indicator data and housing census data from Korea. The analysis results indicate that urban diversity(land use mixture and supply of various residential types) enhances proximity to living services, and the impact of diverse land use within established cities further enhances proximity to living services. These findings suggest the need to explore diverse land use for improving proximity to living services and to supply various residential types through policy. Particularly, to enhance proximity in established cities, more proactive and flexible land-use policies are needed. |
