Abstract |
The goal of this study is to improve the current height management system around Namsan, which has been focused on short distances without proper consideration of the pedestrian perspectives. By introducing the View-cone method, which prioritizes management of key landscapes, the study aims to offer a more balanced approach in the height management system. Through the dynamic visibility simulation based on different view analysis of the Namsan altitude district in Youngsan-gu according to distance, the View-cone management map is proposed. Because of increasing number of recent redevelopment project, Yongsan-gu was chosen as the study site.The results of the simulation analysis can be summarized as follows: By calculating the maximum building heights within the altitude district close to Namsan, the study suggests that the current uniform height regulation system should be revised. The View-Cone methods is useful in establishing the urban design guideline for old area around Namsan in managing harmonious landscape withbased on more reasonable criteria. |
