Abstract To overcome the limitations of transformer acceptance capacity due to the rapid increase in renewable energy sources, the calculation method for the renewable energy connection acceptance capacity is changing from the previous method based on the installation capacity to the method based on the operating capacity. This paper studies a technology to predict the power generation of photovoltaic power plants connected to energy storage systems (ESS), which is necessary for predicting the operating capacity of transformer, using a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) based artificial neural network model.
