Abstract Electrical earthing system is being reinforced to prevent power outage by heavy lightning strike due to increased grounding resistance in 22.9kV-Y distribution network. In order to verify the value of real ground resistance reduction of electrical earthing rods after earthing reinforcement. In terms of electrical characteristics of lightning strike, transient impedance of electrical rod is considered for testing with two types of electrical rodes which contain maximized space related to soil also drilling method is implemented for minimizing soil contact resistance.
