| Abstract |
This paper analyzes the characteristics of a variable flux axial flux permanent magnet synchronous motor according to rotor magnet arrangement. Both models are evaluated using 3D finite-element analysis under ?160Apk demagnetization and +200Apk remagnetization. The series model exhibits a demagnetization rate 10.71 percentage points higher than the hybrid model, whereas the hybrid model achieves remanent flux density and torque recovery rates that are 26.78 and 40.05 percentage points higher, respectively. These results show that the series arrangement offers better demagnetization control, while the hybrid arrangement provides superior remagnetization and electromagnetic performance recovery. |
