Abstract |
This paper introduces an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system for tracking companion animals that can quickly and easily locate a lost animal at any time and location. The system involves a tracker that is attached to the animal, which can be controlled through a smartphone application. By utilizing wireless communication between RF modules, the location of the animal can be tracked and displayed on a map within the smartphone application, even at distances of several kilometers. The system also includes a feature where voice information pre-recorded by the user can be played and the location of the animal can be indirectly notified through LED blinking control that varies depending on the intensity of illumination at the certain area. This novel system is expected to be efficient, which could lead to a reduction in animal safety accidents and loss. Furthermore, it might be able to decrease the cost of operating animal protection centers. |
