Abstract Fixture units and the diversity curve are used, in order to determine the required size of water supply pipe. However, the values of the National Plumbing Code, International Plumbing Code and National Standard Plumbing Code of America are not the same. The objective of this study is to comparatively analyze the fixture units and the peak flows of a 10th story office building, at any instant of time, according to the three codes.
