The Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering (KJACR) is the journal published by the Society of Air-conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea (SAREK). The KJACR publishes academic and technical papers related to air conditioning, refrigeration, energy, environment, automatic control in building and industrial facilities through the strict review process.
After the KJACR began publishing on February 28, 1989, the journal has published monthly and has been stored in the National Library of Korea and Data Base pia (DB pia).
The KJACR is published with government funding (Science and Technology Promotion Fund and Lottery Fund) and finances of SAREK. The commercial advertisements are not posted in the KJACR and review and publication fee of authors charge has no influence on the review process.
Home page and Guideline of SAREK recruit the manuscripts at all times.
In 2017, the KJACR launched online publishing system. The Society members can submit the manuscript and refer to “Guideline for Writing Manuscript” published on the website of SAREK and the KJACR. The submitted papers are published after fair review of the experts in relevant fields. The paper of the KJACR are available online at http://journal.auric.kr/kjacr.

Society Information (SAREK)
- The Society of Air-conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea (SAREK) was established in 1971 to contribute to the welfare of the nation by promoting academic research, technology development, and improving the status of engineers in building and industrial facilities. The SAREK was initially established as an Air-conditioning Refrigeration Engineering Society. After merging with the Korean Building Facilities Society in 2000, it was renamed as the SAREK and its business area was expanded in response to the change of the times.
- Currently, there are more than 9,000 professional members who are engaged in various fields. The SAREK has been well known for strong academia-industrial cooperation because approximately 75% of the members are from industrial fields such as design, manufacturing, construction, maintenance and management.
- The SAREK focuses on the sustainability of various building and plant facilities to provide safety and comfort for residential space and production sites, and conducts research and development, publication of journals, standard establishment, education.
- The SAREK has several allied societies: American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Society of Heating, Air conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan (SHASE), Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers (JSRAE), Scandinavian Federation of Heating, Ventilation and Sanitary Engineering Associations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden (SCANVAC), Division Building Services of VDI-Society for Civil Engineering and Building Services (VDI-TGA), and Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR), Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations (REHVA), Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), International Institute Refrigeration (IIR), and International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies (ICCCS).
