Abstract The World Health Organization has warned that air pollution poses a major public health risk due to its links with a host of respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses. Air pollution has been a pressing environmental concern in South Korea recently due to increasingly higher levels of fine dust particles PM10 and micro fine dust particles PM2.5 in the air. The new market for fine dust related products using air filters such as mask, ventilation system, window screen, air purifiers, etc. is set to continue expanding as concerns about fine dust levels in the air continue to increase. The objective of this study was to secure the usability of all experts and related non-experts by presenting the minimum essential information such as principles, kinds and performance standards for fine dust related products. The study also provides basic data for particulate matter management plan through analyzing the main generation and inflow paths of indoor and outdoor particulate matter and corresponding products.
