Abstract |
In the negative pressure isolation room for containment of contaminants, contaminated air can be exposed to the outside due to various factors. In this study, the CFD simulation was used to investigate the cause of contaminated air leakage through medical staff movement, the pressure difference, and the exhaust location in the isolation room equipped with sliding doors. As a result, the major cause of contaminated air leakage was dominantly caused by the medical staff movement. But, as the pressure difference increased, the airflow caused by the pressure difference more dominated the contaminated air leakage. Also, unlike the general prediction that the larger the pressure difference, the greater the containment effect, the larger the pressure difference, the greater the amount of contaminated air leakage from the special exhaust location. Thus, it is necessary to establish detailed standards for the pressure difference when establishing S.O.P. Additionally, when the asymmetric airflow is formed in the isolation room depending on the exhaust location, the contaminated air leakage is relatively reduced by the contaminated air gathering on direction. |
