Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to determine the working fluid of an organic rankine cycle (ORC), a combined heat and power system, for a liquid desiccant system using a district heat source wasted in the cooling season. Considering the environmental impact, R245fa, R514A, n-Pentane, R1233zd(E), and Nove649 have been considered and the thermodynamic analysis of all fluids were conducted. As a result, Novec649 was recommended because of high total net power and heat recovery rate in the condenser in terms of effectively applying the wasted district heat source. With Novec649 recommended in this study, the test bed for ORC system was built and it can provide more than 50°C of inlet desiccant solution in the regenerator of liquid desiccant system without an auxiliary heater. |
