Abstract |
Recently, low-energy and carbon neutrality are becoming a major issue in the building sector. Global governments are actively promoting sustainable energy strategies and polices to realize low-energy buildings in societies. The renewable energy system is one of the best effective methods for realizing the low-energy buildings. On the other hand, the market of data centers is rapidly growing with the development of information technology. In particular, it is necessary to establish the method of energy reduction accordingly to increase the hyper-scale data centers. Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify paths towards saving energy in data centers. To save energy in the data center, the water source heat pump (WSHP) and ground source heat pump (GSHP) were applied. The feasibility of the WSHP and GSHP were analyzed using a simulation model. As for the feasibility analysis results, the coefficient of performance of the WSHP system was 6.53 higher than the GSHP system. Additionally, the initial investment cost of the GSHP system was 2.9 times higher than the WSHP. |
