Abstract |
In this study, basic performance characteristics were identified by applying R-1234ze(E), a representative low GWP refrigerant, to a falling film evaporator. The performance characteristics of the falling film evaporator were investigated according to changes in the chilled water inlet temperature, flow rate, and amount of refrigerant. The cooling capacity increased with increases in the chilled water flow rate and temperature, and the overall heat transfer coefficient was confirmed to be 2,700 W/m2K at a chilled water inlet temperature of 10 ℃. As the refrigerant charge amount decreased, the evaporation pressure and cooling capacity decreased rapidly from a certain point. In particular, the cooling capacity was reduced by 10% compared to the condition in which lower tube bundles were submerged. |
