Abstract |
In comparison to boilers, heat pump systems can operate at higher efficiency without emitting carbon. For this reason, the heat pump technology is essential for realizing carbon neutrality, which is a global change. In the present study, a heat pump cycle for producing 160℃ steam was studied to provide a high-temperature thermal energy for industrial processes. As a result of analysis through thermodynamic calculation, COP tended to increase as intermediate pressure increased. However, COP change according to pressure of the gas cooler showed different tendencies depending on refrigerant or intermediate pressure. On the other hand, the COP tended to increase according to effectiveness of the internal heat exchanger and efficiency of the compressor. In conclusion, R1336mzz(Z) was selected as the most suitable refrigerant in this study and optimal conditions were presented by comprehensively considering thermal stability, global warming potential, ozone depletion potential, toxicity, flammability of the refrigerants, and coefficient of performance for the suggested heat pump cycle. |
