Abstract |
With the increasing demand for transportation and long travel hours, enhancing the interior environment of automobiles has become paramount. While air conditioning systems play a crucial role in creating a comfortable indoor space, they often contribute to reduced fuel efficiency by drawing power from the vehicle. Bus heating and cooling systems must operate effectively to respond to the changing environment conditions while minimizing energy waste from overcooling and overheating. This study assesses the internal thermal environment under various conditions and proposes criteria for system configuration settings. Based on our findings, we recommend a temperature setting of 18 degrees Celsius or higher for buses accommodating 25 passengers, alongside an airspeed setting ranging from weak (approximately 1 m/s) to strong (approximately 5 m/s). In cases where the passenger count falls below 25, the internal temperature decreases correspondingly, necessitating an increase in the temperature. These recommendations align with the ISO 7700 standards. |
