Abstract |
This study investigated the punching shear behavior and failure regions of composite flat plates locally strengthened with high-strength steel fiber-reinforced precast concrete. The main variables were the PC region width and the presence of steel fibers. The peak loads of the strengthened specimens were 33.1?127.6% higher than that of the RC reference specimen. Specimens PC-0%-2h, PC-1%-2h, and PC-0%-4h failed within the PC region, whereas external failure in the cast-in-place concrete was observed only in PC-1%-4h. The experimental strengths were compared with predictions based on KDS 14 20 22, ACI 318, Eurocode 2, and a CSCT-based model using sections measured from the column face and the outer edge of the PC region. The results showed that the relevant calculation section and material properties depended on the observed failure region. Because external failure occurred in only one specimen, the findings were limited to the tested conditions.
