| Abstract |
The increasing penetration of photovoltaic (PV) generation in distribution systems requires reliable estimation of generation output, while detailed metering data for small-scaled PV units are often unavailable. This paper proposes a method for deriving regional representative power output curves using time-series PV generation metering data. Daily generation patterns are analyzed under the assumption that PV generators within similar conditions exhibit comparable output characteristics. To identify representative generation patterns, several statistical and clustering-based approaches are examined, and k-means clustering is selected as the most effective method. The proposed approach enables practical estimation of PV generation output and supports feeder-level load estimation and distribution system planning. |
