He received a B.E degree in Electrical Engineering from Yeungnam University, Korea, in 1997 and M.S. and Ph.D degrees from Nagoya University, Japan, in 2000 and 2004, respectively, He was with Toyota Technologies Institute, from 2004 to 2007. He was an Assistant Professor at Nagoya University from 2007 to 2012. From 2012 to 2017, he was a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials. Since then, he has worked as a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Korea National University of Transportation. His research interests are in the areas of human-centered engineering and hybrid/nonlinear control theory.

He received a Ph.D in electrical engineering from Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan, Korea, in 1999. He also received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan, in 2005. From 2005 to 2012, he was with the fundamental technology group of the elementary technology team, CDS division, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Suwon, as a group leader. Since 2012, he has been an associate professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Daegu Catholic University, Gyeongsan, Korea. His research interests include the areas of AC-to-DC converter, DC-to-DC converter and DC-AC inverter, Power Factor Correction circuit, soft-switching converter topology, wireless power transfer, virtual reality and hybrid/nonlinear control theory. He won the Best Paper Award from ICCAS in 2005 and the Outstanding Paper Award from ISIE in 2005.
