Abstract |
Numerous mechanical equipments are used in the building, and the induction motor is mainly adopted as the power source of the pump. Due to the structural characteristics of the induction motor, a large starting current is generated, and various starting methods have been adopted as a countermeasure against this. Generally, 15~55[kW] motors, which are most commonly used in buildings, adopt Y-△ start method, a kind of reduced voltage starting methods. However, this method may cause problems such as abnormal voltage and contact deterioration at the electromagnetic contactor when switching the wiring. Therefore, this study will propose the capacity of the motor for the full voltage starting, which considers the power capacity of the system. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by using Power Tools, used as a power simulation program. The motor starting power factor and the load factor of the transformer were simulated by considering the parameters of the system. This study was designed to be utilized as reference data, which guides electrical engineering firms and construction sites to consider the overall conditions of the system when selecting the method of starting the motor, not to select the uniform application considering only the motor capacity. |
