Abstract |
In this paper, we presented a method of operating an ESS that can reduce the power bill while performing a UPS function. Recently, lithium battery-based energy storage devices are rapidly spreading. In recent years, UPS has also progressed from powering specific loads to powering building loads. Therefore, the capacity of the battery is not always used, there is a waiting energy amount. Load forecasting was used to utilize these unused batteries. The utilization plan of battery was established based on the forecasted load, and the utilization plan was divided into UPS and electric power bill reduction. Considering this utilization plan, a method of establishing a charge and discharge plan was presented. In general, the load forecasting is difficult to achieve high accuracy for small loads. Therefore, the forecasted load is always prone to error. In this paper, the case study shows that even if the predicted load has an error, the battery capacity is managed to ensure the UPS function all the time and the power bill reduction is performed well. |
