Abstract Recently, the demand for electric motors for high-speed operation is increasing due to the development of hydrogen vehicles using fuel cells as well as electric vehicles. In particular, the Air Blower Motor is receiving a lot of attention as an electric motor for hydrogen vehicles, and there is a need for performance improvement research on high-power, high-speed machines. In this paper, a coreless model with stator tooth removed was studied and designed to design a high-performance, high-speed motor. The purpose of this study was to increase the specific power of the motor by reducing the core usage and improve the efficiency by reducing the loss by improving the iron loss. It was verified that the torque ripple and loss of the coreless model were improved through the Finite Elements Method (FEM).
