Abstract |
In this paper, the material compatibility test of hydrofluoroolefins (HFO) refrigerant R1233zd(E) with lubricant and polymers is conducted with consistent testing conditions. The combination of five polymers (NBR, HNBR, CR, EPDM, FKM) and two lubricants (POE, PVE) with R1233zd(E) were tested. The sealed tubes were prepared according to the general procedure in the ASHRAE standard and were exposed for 15 days at 70℃. The material compatibility was evaluated by changes in weight, height, and international rubber hardness degree (IRHD). Test results show that the type of polymers is more dominant than that of lubricants. In short, the hardness decreased for CR and FKM polymers, and the change of hardness was minimal in the order of NBR, HNBR and EPDM. |
