Abstract Recently, interests about IoT technology has been expanded because of the spread of affordable and feasible microprocessors. Still, the decision of control logic depends on expertise. In this study, authors developed a rule-based on/off system using the IoT device to control relative humidity in the bathroom for the purpose of reducing surface condensation occurrence in the dressroom. It was found that control bounds cannot be suggested in deterministic values since base humidity, wherein moisture content of air converge differ because of boundary conditions. Change point analysis was then adapted to judge if moisture content is restored to the baseline wherein the control stopping point can be suggested. The ANN model was also developed with the measured data, formerly used for analysis, to test the control algorithm suggested in this study.
