Abstract |
This study proposes a battery charger with a wide range of output voltages for a personal mobility device (PMD). PMD is a means of transportation with low speed for a single person. It uses electricity as a power source for short-distance travel. It exhibits the advantage of low purchase and maintenance costs. However, battery voltage differs depending on the type of PMD, and thus, PMD demonstrates the disadvantage of requiring multiple battery chargers for consumers who use multiple types of PMD. To overcome this disadvantage, this study presents a battery charger with a wide range of output voltages for PMD. The proposed battery charger is suitable for different types of PMD; hence, the commercial availability of PMD can be improved. The effectiveness of the proposed battery charger with a wide range of output voltages for PMD is verified through simulation and experimental results. |
