| Abstract |
In this paper, the design and implementation of a high-efficiency modular power converter installed in a 120 kW-class fuel cell system for ships was presented. The converter unit was built using the parallel operation of four 30 kW unit modules consisting of a two-stage conversion structure utilizing a two-phase interleaved boost converter and a series resonant converter. As the result, the ripple voltage was reduced, and a peak efficiency of 97.95% was achieved when a total of four two-phase interleaved boost converters operated the 120 kW converter unit. In addition, the droop control was applied to two 60 kW converter units to verify the parallel operation control function to explore the possibility of developing a mega-watt scale power converter through the parallel operation of multiple units. |
