Abstract Recent years have shown a trend towards expanding the operating frequency range and increasing the output power of sound navigation and ranging(SONAR) systems to enhance their acoustic detection capabilities. However, this increase in operational power necessitates the amplification stage of SONAR, leading to higher-capacity amplifiers. The design of SONAR amplifiers requires the consideration of LC filters and matching transformers to ensure high-quality voltage delivery to the sensor and increase the overall efficiency. Furthermore, the design of high-capacity amplifiers should include safety measures for installation, transport, maintenance, and component stress. In this paper, an amplifier topology that uses cascaded multi-modules within a single system was proposed to address these challenges. The design approach considers matching and frequency-response characteristics identical to those of a single-system amplifier, which are validated through simulations and experimental testing with a reduced capacity.
