Abstract This study investigates a T-type inverter, which is selected for its alignment with the trend toward high-voltage specifications, to achieve high efficiency and exceptional compatibility between photovoltaic (PV) systems and grid-connected systems. The proposed topology addresses challenges in modeling methods for complex operating regions and instability in controlling nonlinear systems by offering solutions to enhance robustness. The control system adopts a double-loop structure. The outer loop employs an MPPT (Perturb & Observe) algorithm to identify the voltage at the maximum power point, while PI (Proportional-Integral) control regulates the PV module voltage. In the inner loop, Model Predictive Control (MPC) is applied to regulate the current. The proposed MPC approach not only achieves significantly faster dynamic response but also enhanced stability during transient response periods. compared with conventional PI control techniques. Furthermore, it effectively reduces harmonic distortion, confirming its potential to improve the overall system performance.
