| Abstract |
This study proposes a novel control method to address the main issues of a phase-shifted full-bridge (PSFB) converter with a capacitor?diode?diode (CDD) clamp circuit applied at the secondary rectifier stage. The conventional PSFB converter employing a CDD clamp circuit suffers several drawbacks, such as a large ripple current flowing through the output capacitor under low-voltage-gain conditions, increased switching and conduction losses on the primary side, and the need to design a small magnetizing inductance to achieve zero-voltage switching of the lagging-leg switches. To overcome these limitations, this study introduces a new control method that combines pulse-width modulation and pulse-frequency modulation schemes. The proposed method is experimentally validated using a 1.6 kW prototype designed for an input voltage of 240?410 V and an output specification of 48 V/33.4 A. |
