| Abstract |
Stacked converters are widely used for interfacing electrolyzer systems because they can effectively eliminate output current ripple regardless of duty cycle and the number of phases. However, when expanded to multiphase configurations for high-current applications, they suffer from interphase current imbalance. In addition, interfacing renewable energy sources with electrolyzers requires a DC?DC converter with a high step-down voltage conversion ratio. This study proposes a novel DC?DC converter for interfacing renewable energy sources with electrolyzer systems. By applying a series capacitor structure to the conventional stacked interleaved buck converter, the proposed topology achieves twice the step-down voltage conversion ratio compared with the conventional configuration and resolves the current imbalance problem. The proposed converter can be extended to a multiphase structure, and its performance is experimentally verified. |
