| Abstract |
This study focuses on the development of a small-capacity emergency power supply system capable of driving household AC loads using a Power Delivery-compatible portable battery. As power interruptions become frequent in areas with limited electrical infrastructure, lightweight and portable emergency sources are required to maintain essential functions such as lighting, communication, and ventilation. The proposed system is composed of a DC/DC converter that boosts a low-voltage DC input to a high-voltage level suitable for inverter operation, followed by a DC/AC inverter that generates single-phase AC power. In this study, the boosting characteristics of a quadratic boost converter are analyzed by explicitly considering parasitic components, which significantly influence real-world voltage gain. On the basis of this analysis, a 50 W prototype capable of producing a 220 V AC output from a 20 V DC input is implemented. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified through prototype fabrication and experimental evaluation. |
