A Study on the Cheklist for Interior Elements Influencing on Accessibility and Mobility of Visually Impaired Persons |
Abstract |
The objective of this study is to develop the evaluation checklist in the public interior spaces for the visually impaired persons. For this research 53 subjects including totally blinds and partially blinds are interviewed with a questionnaire about the important interior elements influencing on their accessibility and mobility. The improvement of environment can make the blinds feel free and act easily and smoothly same as the normal people. The previously analyzed checklist based on the architectural codes and standards is used, but the user's needs, the answers of the questionnaires by the blinds are focused on in this research to obtain the relative importance weight of interior elements in the public space where the blinds use frequently. The collected data is analyzed with a simple statistics and paired comparison matrix. The result of this research can be used as a basic checklist and be very true to users for public environments. |
