| Abstract |
To cope with the radical changes in the design field of current society, it is important to provide a systematic education program to produce interior design professionals who can play major roles in this field. The purpose of this study is to provide the basic resource on current interior design education, through analyzing the interior design curriculum of three countries - Korea, United States/Canada, and Japan - and to propose a direction for the gradual progress of interior design education in Korea. The result shows that the most critical problem in Korean interior design curriculum is the lack of specialty, so that the establishment of educational system and curriculum is required preferentially. By providing distinguished and specialized interior design education system according to the situation of each institution, high-quality human resource who can attribute to the progress of interior design field could be secured. |
