Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the animation of Hosoda Mamoru, who leads the market of animation to the world in a style different from that of the West. He is walking in a different direction than the world of Hayao Miyazaki by designing the new space-time to arrange events and adjust relations with character in his own film language style. Thereupon the aim of this study is to present the direction of animation in the near future based on the characteristics of the works of Hosoda Mamoru who opened the era of the new anime. By making use of the meaning and composition of film time, and the technique of camera work, I make the logical viewpoint of film time. The difference between story time and discourse time is divided into actual time, screening time, time frame. And then I comprehensive analyze the works of Hosoda Mamoru's「Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time」,「Summer Wars」and「Wolf Children」. First, he focuses on facial expressions and inner expressions by minimizing the shading on the person. Second, he use the combination of real image and CG to effectively communicate the narrative of the dual structure. Third, the emotions and facial expressions of a person are represented by motion and movement in all scenes. Fourth, most scenes use pastel tones to achieve high density images. Fifth, he symbolizes the growing psychological state by choosing what the main character is at the crossroads of life through the forms of sky and clouds. As a result of the analysis, he used his own film time to convey the dual structure narrative. So there differ from the West, armed with the latest technology.
