Abstract |
The subway station is a public transport to solve air pollution and traffic congestion, and serves as a link between the city and the network base. Furthermore, the subway station has been used as a mere passage and resting space in the past, but nowadays, it is being used as a multi-functional community space complete with various additional facilities such as culture, commerce, and leisure, focusing on the nodal point. As a result, urban growth and regional development centering on subway stations led to various demands, and subway stations became an important factor influencing urban development with potential for regional development. The purpose of this study is to identify various types of elevation design for underground entrance of subway station by applying the law of Pragnanz through field survey and statistical analysis and to understand the characteristics of formative expression accordingly. In addition, we suggest ways to improve the user's effective identification and accessibility, and provide basic data for remodeling the subway station or planning public facilities. In order to understand the characteristics of formative expressions, we selected the transfer stations of nine subway lines in Seoul, which have a higher number of users and more traffic and accessibility than the general stations. |
