Abstract Media space is becoming an interactive space where experiences of human and culture are created. In particular, the expansion of communication demands new media and technology in urban space. And it has been noted that techniques of new media and expressions of design change the experience of human body. This study aims to provide a basis for the phenomenological analysis(body schema) and planning of spatial design with interaction and experience, focusing on perception and cognition by the review of public projects and artworks. In the case analysis, the design and exhibition planned by the artist or designer were generating integrated intersensation between participants and artists. Furthermore, the public was able to experience interaction through modality in techniques of new media. Therefore, technique of new media combined with multimodal situation has become a medium to form an identity to the orientation of place, while visualizing messages from artist and designer. This study has significance in anticipating the extensibility of communication with new media and intersensational expression by schema in the design of urban planning.
