Abstract |
As many disasters increase, many domestic apartments should have plans and systems to minimize disaster damage. The purpose of this study was to identify the planning concept of disaster resilience in apartment planning and analyze the criteria and contents of the overseas certification system for strengthening domestic disaster resilience. Major findings are as follows. Firstly, the four main concepts for improving disaster resilience capacity were identified as durability, resource substitution, resilience, and community. Secondly, it is necessary to consider the aspects of disaster resilience activities through linkage with the local community as well as the maintenance of residents’ lives after disaster, such as safety aspects of indoor space and furniture or high-rise apartments. Finally, the major concept of disaster resilience improvement plan shown in the overseas certification system was the resilience in terms of space, safety devices, and maintenance of life. In order to improve the disaster resilience power of many apartments in Korea, it is necessary to consider the planning concept on the software aspects such as disaster prevention activities, training, and community as well as consideration on hardware aspects such as seismic design, evacuation safety, and space. In the follow-up study, we will develop the certification system items suitable for the domestic situation through experts’ survey based on the contents of the overseas certification system. |
